You can borrow three books at a time (6th Form students can borrow five), just ask at the Help Desk. If you have any overdue books, you won't be able to borrow any more until they are returned and the problem is resolved.

A normal loan is two weeks and you can renew your items twice if you need them for longer (unless they are reserved). Please make sure that your books are returned on time or you will face sanctions; we must chase up any missing books with parents and you will need to complete a library detention if you do not return your items to us. In some circumstances you may have to pay for the replacement cost of the items.

Fiction books are organised in alphabetical order by author surname, for example: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green would be under the letter 'G'.

Most fiction books will have a coloured spot on the spine, this shows you the Accelerated Reader level; if you are year 7, 8 or 9 then you will need to read a book of your level. Once you have found a book of the correct colour, just check inside the front cover to find the level. If you need any help finding an Accelerated Reader book, just ask a member of The Hive team.

Non-Fiction books are organised in their subject area (for example, History, Maths & Science, Geography) and then in number order with number stickers on the spines. The easiest way to find a specific book is to search on the catalogue or ask a member of The Hive team.

To log in to Eclipse.net (our library catalogue) you will need your student ID number that you use to access the school PC's. This will be your username. Speak to Miss Lowe to find out your password or pick up a handy guide from The Hive!
