The Team

There's lots to do to make The Hive a fun and tidy place; we have a team of students who help with a wide range of tasks to make sure that everything runs smoothly. There are three different student roles in The Hive and they offer a great opportunity to get some work experience to add to your CV.

Library Assistants are very important as they make sure that everything is running smoothly in The Hive; they work in teams and are responsible for adding new books to the catalogue, creating eye-catching displays and making content for Hive News. If you want to work in The Hive, this is a great place to start.

Library Leaders are responsible for training up the Library Assistants and making sure that The Hive is the best it can be. They each lead a different team of Library Assistants and make sure that all projects are completed to a really high standard so that The Hive is a fun place to be.

Student Librarians have a slightly different role to the Library Assistants; they are the students who decide on what books we should have on our shelves and write interesting reviews to help students to find the best book to suit their interests. Student Librarians have the important task of choosing the Book of the Month and reviewing it.

If you are interested in getting valuable (and fun!) work experience in the Library, speak to a member of our Hive team and we will add you to the waiting list. If we have a spare place, we will send you an application form.
